AI and Us: Children & young people’s fears & hopes for the future

“AI is becoming part of our everyday lives. We enjoy how it helps us learn, create, and explore new ideas. But we also see risks - misinformation, unsafe content, threats to our privacy, and the worry that technology could replace the human connections we value. And sometimes it’s hard to know what’s real and what’s not.

We, children and young people, are among those most affected by AI, but we are rarely included in decisions about it. For World Children’s Day 2025, we are speaking for ourselves. In this report, we share what excites us, what concerns us, and the solutions we believe can guide a safer, fairer, and more human future.

We hope you will listen - and work with us to build AI that respects our rights, protects our wellbeing, and ensures that decisions are made with us, not just for us.”
